US intelligence agencies believe an executive in Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's circle is an informant for China. The individual identified is Alice Huang, a Chinese citizen and former top executive at Megaspeed, a Singapore-based data center operator. US authorities found that Huang passes information to Beijing and maintains a close relationship with Huang. She was photographed with the Nvidia CEO during business dinners in Singapore. US sources believe she may have used her role at Megaspeed to gain direct access to Jensen Huang to feed China intelligence on Nvidia and influence the Trump administration's thinking on AI.

US intelligence agencies surveilled Alice Huang for about a year to learn about her ties with China. Officials were concerned she could be gathering information about Nvidia's plans and the CEO's efforts to convince the administration regarding chip exports. The US government also suspects Megaspeed of helping China get access to Nvidia chips. In 2025, the Commerce Department investigated Megaspeed over concerns it was helping Chinese companies sidestep AI chip export regulations. Between June 2024 and February 2026, a Malaysian sister company of Megaspeed bought at least $4.8 billion worth of AI hardware with Nvidia chips.

President Trump was briefed about the spy plot roughly a year ago but did nothing. He chose not to act on the intelligence partly due to fears that action could hobble Nvidia chip sales or disrupt the US-China trade truce. Jensen Huang was not warned about the allegations against Alice Huang. An Nvidia spokesperson stated that Megaspeed does not receive sensitive information. The spokesperson denied that Alice Huang had access to sensitive trade secrets, stating that meetings with customers are part of a CEO's job.

Megaspeed has announced an internal investigation regarding the allegations. Alice Huang's name was removed from Megaspeed corporate documents after US scrutiny increased. A spokesperson for the Chinese embassy dismissed the allegations as groundless smears and slanders. Liu Chang, spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC, accused the US of pursuing a campaign of groundless smears and slanders against China.
