Toyota intends to allocate $6.4 billion annually to humanoid robots and factory automation. The company aims to transform into a global robotics entity by deploying 400,000 robots. Its AI robotics spinout, Walden Robotics, went public in July with a $1.1 billion valuation and received $300 million in funding.

Goldman Sachs analysts estimate Toyota could capture three to eight percent of the humanoid robot market by 2035. The company faces competition from Tesla, Xpeng, and Hyundai. A Toyota executive stated that the company's own factories will be the first location for robot deployment. Executives prioritize this setting because the environment is easier to control there.

Investors remain cautious about these plans due to past failures with hydrogen cars and solid-state batteries.
