Luxor Technology has raised $16 million in a strategic funding round led by CMT Digital. The round included participation from Canaan, MicroBT, Halo, Steelhead, and additional angel investors. The capital combined primary and secondary sources to support the company's expansion into new markets.

The company intends to use the proceeds to scale its AI infrastructure business and expand its GPU sourcing services. Specific allocations include scaling the agentic cloud platform, growing the AI hardware business, and expanding compute derivatives trading capabilities. Luxor also plans to hire more staff, with a target of adding about 12 people by the end of the year. These hires will focus on engineering and go-to-market roles to support the company's growth.

Luxor serves Bitcoin miners such as Canaan and TeraWulf. The company launched its Luxor AI business segment in September. Co-founder and CEO Nick Hansen stated that compute markets are converging between digital mining and AI. This strategic shift aligns with the company's existing operations in the mining sector.

Luxor's hardware desk has traded $1 billion of mining ASICs. Its energy arm services more than 75 megawatts of load across two U.S. grid regions. The cloud platform had processed 1.8 million workloads as of September. Additionally, the over-the-counter desk offers cash-settled options, forwards, and backstops on compute-rental indexes. Luxor previously raised $5 million in a Series A funding round led by NYDIG in June 2021.
