Bitcoin slid below $80,000, reaching its weakest level in more than one month. The cryptocurrency was down by 2.2% over the past 24 hours to $79,700. Other major digital assets also declined, with Ether, XRP, and Solana falling in the 3% to 4% range.

The market movement coincided with reports that the United States is evacuating personnel from embassies and military bases throughout the Middle East. These actions were taken due to threats of Iranian attacks. Jay Clayton reported that lethal plotting efforts by Iranians against U.S. citizens have reached advanced stages in the Middle East and certain other countries.

President Trump addressed the situation at a rally in Florida on Friday. He threatened a re-escalation in the war against Iran after the midterms in early November. During the speech, he stated, "We may do another little 'Epic Fury.'"
