Amazon CEO Andy Jassy stated that Prime Video is now profitable in its own right. He announced that the streaming service is on track to generate a revenue run rate in the tens of billions of dollars. Jassy previously told investors in May that Prime Video was profitable, but the specific detail about tens of billions in revenue is new.

Amazon MGM Studios has brought in more than $1.2 billion in global box office sales so far this year. The film 'Project Hail Mary' grossed an estimated $684 million worldwide and became the studio's highest-grossing release this year. The studio also had at least one notable flop this year titled 'Melania'.

Jassy named several TV shows as hits, including 'Carrie', 'The Summer I Turned Pretty', 'The Boys', 'Off Campus', 'Fallout', and 'Reacher'. Season 4 of 'Reacher' drew 66 million viewers globally in its first 28 days. The show is currently filming Season 5 and has been picked up for a sixth season. Prime Video broadcasts NASCAR, the Masters, and UEFA Champions League soccer. Thursday Night Football is Prime Video's biggest sports success this year with the first six games averaging 17.7 million viewers. Prime Video attracted over 2 million viewers for its second season of the NBA on Prime.
